Cute Birth Announcement Ideas

Introducing a new baby into your family is such an exciting moment and you can’t wait for all of your loved ones to meet your little bundle of joy! Many parents are now doing special things to announce their child’s birth, from adorable photo shoots to creative cards and more. A child’s birth is a wonderful reason for a celebration and a fun announcement can be the first thing you make note of in a keepsake journal. When your child is older you will still remember how happy everyone was during the birth announcement and it will be a story you will love sharing with your child. Here are some cute and creative ideas for your next birth announcement.

1. The Photoshoot

Always a classic, you can never go wrong with sending your family some snaps from a sleeping baby photoshoot. The best part is you can get as creative as you want with these photos. Place your baby in a tutu or an adorable onesie outfit, place her in the arms of an older sibling, or do a before and after next to a photo of you during your pregnancy. The ideas are endless and no matter what you choose, your photo will be as unique as your precious little one.

2. Candy Arrangement

For a very sweet surprise you can put together a candy arrangement with all pink candies for a girl or all blue candies for a boy. Custom made lollipops or cookies with your baby’s name and birthdate add a special personalized touch. Your family and friends will be thrilled to receive these sweet treats. 

3. Handwritten note 

You don’t have to go all out for an extra special birth announcement; a simple handwritten note is charming and timeless and unique because not many people take the time to handwrite notes anymore. Use some nice stationery and practice your best handwriting and make sure to keep a copy for your own baby keepsake journal. 

4. Bubble gum cigars

Hospitals and party stores usually sell “It’s a Boy!” and “It’s a Girl!” bubble gum cigar boxes that are incredibly cute to give to family and friends. Have a box of these on hand to give to those who stop by the hospital for a visit and keep some extra to mail out to loved ones who live far away.

5. Door sign 

It is a custom in Italy for parents to announce their baby’s arrival to their neighbors by putting a sign outside their house. A cute idea is to print out a picture of a stork delivering a baby and glue it to a piece of cardboard that you can hang on your door. Make sure to put the baby’s name, date of birth, and weight/length if you wish. Add some pink or blue balloons for a finishing touch.
