Hot Weather Baby Food Recipes That are Easy to Make
I love summer for all of the get-togethers and parties I'm fortunate to attend. I love the sun and food. Babies, however, don't get to enjoy juicy cheeseburgers, potato salad, and French fries. When you take your baby to barbecues and gatherings this summer, make sure to bring something exciting for him or her eat. Here are a few easy-to-make recipes for your baby that are perfect for the summer.
1. Zucchini and summer squash
This mix of veggies is perfect for baby! It’s easy to make for mom, and easy to eat for baby. Plus, these veggies have a sweet little kick to them, so baby will feel like they are getting an awesome summer treat!
2. Banana and avocado
Another great summer recipe for baby is mashed banana and avocado. This recipe is really easy to make, all you have to do is mash both the banana and avocado in a bowl and you are ready to roll. Bring this meal to the park, beach, or BBQ and baby has a ready to go summer meal.
3. Pureed carrots
When it’s hot outside, it’s hard to eat heavy meals. Pureed carrots make for the perfect summer time snack because they are light. All you have to do is roast a couple carrots in the oven, puree with water, and you’re done!
4. Berry salad
Fruit salad is a barbeque staple. Although baby cannot eat all of the fruit in the salad, they can eat berries! To be safe, the next time you are going to a cookout, bring your own berry salad for baby. Blueberries and raspberries are nice and soft, making them perfect for babies. Berry salad is a yummy summer treat that baby will love.
5. Ice cream
It isn’t really summer until ice cream and popsicles become a regular snack! It’s probably best that you don’t feed baby ice cream from the box, because it can be unhealthy. I have a great banana ice cream recipe that is healthy and delicious. The first step to this treat is to cut a banana into chunks and freeze the pieces. Once frozen, put the banana chunks into a food processor with a little water and pulse until it turns into a creamy frozen treat. Yummy, healthy and very summer!
