4 Helpful Style Tips for Pregnant Mamas

stylish maternity outfitsI have always loved fashion. Although I wouldn’t consider myself a fashionista by any means, I do enjoy a pretty necklace and a cute dress. When I became pregnant with my first child, it was a bit of a struggle to find maternity clothes that were stylish. Let’s face it, pregnant mommies options are limited when it comes to cute clothes, or so I thought!

When I became pregnant with baby number two, I was determined to be a stylish pregnant mom! There are plenty of ways that you can be stylish and cute while pregnant. All the good clothes aren’t reserved just for the single girls! Here are five helpful style tips for pregnant mamas:

1. Embrace low-maintenance.

One thing I learned during my first pregnancy was that I was going to have to embrace being low-maintenance. There was no way I was going to spend more than five minutes on my makeup and you better believe the first outfit I saw was the one I was going to be wearing that day. When you are pregnant, you just don’t have the energy to try and be cute. The great thing about this is that I learned how to do my makeup quickly, and that became helpful for when I had two little tots running around!

2. Buy maxi-dresses.

I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful a maxi dress is. A good cotton maxi, especially in the summer, is my favorite thing to wear. It’s comfortable, flows around me, and is flattering to every body type. A pregnant mama could do no wrong wearing a maxi dress. I really did live in them during my pregnancies.

3. Find comfortable shoes.

If you are a stiletto heel kind of girl, it might be a good idea to find another go-to shoe during your pregnancy. No matter how cute I wanted to look, there was no way my pregnant self was wearing heels. Besides the fear of falling, they just weren’t comfortable, especially during the later months of my pregnancy when I weighed the most. I became a big fan of Keds because they were adorable and comfortable.  My feet were more than happy with me at night for that decision.

4. Accessorize like a pro.

Being pregnant means that your clothing choices are going to be more low-maintenance and easy to wear. You’ll don simpler outfits without many layers. If you usually like to look stylish, don’t worry you still can, you just have to learn to accessorize like a pro. Casual outfits with a chunky necklace is a great way to be comfortable, but still look cute. Wear pieces that draw the eye and stand out.

Written by Stephanie Parker from Sleepingbaby.com, inventor of the Zipadee-Zip

The motto for Sleeping Baby, makers of the Zipadee-Zip, is: "Inspiring Dreams One Night at A time," and that, in a nutshell, is how it all started…with one little dream that has since become the Parker family's reality. When Brett and Stephanie Parker's daughter, Charlotte, was born, the feeling that welled up inside of them was indescribable; they never realized until first looking into those baby blues of hers that they were even capable of that kind of love.

When it was time to transition baby from swaddling, the Parkers tried every sleep sack on the market and every swaddle weaning trick they could find for nearly two weeks and nothing worked to get baby Charlotte to fall and stay asleep.

Stephanie became determined to restore sleep and sanity to their household and set out to find a solution that would soothe Charlotte's startle reflex and provide her the cozy womb-like environment she loved so much but still give her the freedom to roll over and wiggle around in her crib safely. Out of sheer desperation and exhaustion, the Zipadee-Zip was born. The first Zipadee-Zip(R) Stephanie put together on her little sewing machine worked like magic!

To date tens of thousands of Zipadee-Zips have been sold and all from word-of-mouth marketing. It is so rewarding for the Parkers to see other parents and babies getting the sleep they both need and deserve!
